My thoughts on the Mailbox App, from August 2013, and why I use Gmail's Inbox App now.
Pull requests are a fantastic tool for collaborating on a coding project. My aim in this post is to describe the experiences that have led me to love pull requests in the hope of inspiring more people to use them.
Berlin is an incredible city, made all the better by the incredible friendships I've experienced here. When I first got here, I was having a bit of a hard time. I've been gone from home for a long time and since I'm an extrovert, being alone for a while can be tough. I missed the loving company of my friends and family back home.
Yesterday was the most memorable day of my trip so far. We had an incredible time exploring the city with a friend of a friend who lives here (a "franger": a friend who is also a stranger), but the day was punctuated by a visit to a shelter for "street children" in the Mirpur neighborhood of Dhaka.
I've been in Dhaka for about 48 hours and I've taken exactly two pictures of the city, way fewer than I took in either Taipei or Shanghai. This is partly because I've been taking it easy and haven't explored the city much, but it's also because I'm having an internal conflict about when it's appropriate to take pictures.
Today was the stereotypical day I was hoping to have when I planned a trip alone. I rode on the back of a scooter with the wind in my face, hiked into a cave with water pooring down from the ceiling, and saw Taiwan's incredible coastline.
It's been a busy few days. The good news is that it's been surprisingly social, but not in the ways I expected this trip to be.
Today was my first day in Taipei! I don't think it's hit me yet that I'm going to be traveling for the better part of a month.
